Sometime in 2008, Songyi joined LCH Entertainment and became a member of their pre-debut girl band NiA. She officially made her debut with the girl band on April 23, 2009 with the release of their first single album "My Everything". She left the band just a few months later to pursue her studies.
On March 27, 2014 she debuted as the lead vocalist of the girl group Billion with the release of their debut single album "Remove Before Flight". The group announced their disbandment on June 20, 2017. On April 24, 2018, she made her solo debut with the single album "The Night".
