In October 2020, Soowoo was announced as an upcoming contestant in the 2020 teen reality competition show CAP-TEEN. She was the final winner of the show, thus earning her a debut as a soloist singer. On August 3, 2021, she was officially revealed as an artist under CJ ENM's new label WAKEONE.
On January 27, 2022, WAKEONE dropped her first set of concept photos for the release of her upcoming debut single "Love Me or Hate Me". The single was released on February 3. On April 19, 2022, she announced that she has left WAKEONE.
In early 2024, she joined NEO Records and changed her stage name to Nina. On February 14, 2024, as Nina she released her second digital single and first English release "Love Like This". On April 10, she released her third digital single "Summer Breeze".
