Minnie was first revealed to the public on March 22, 2016, where she was introduced as a member of the trainee group Cube Tree. On April 18, 2018, Minnie was revealed as the sixth and final member of (G)I-DLE (now known as i-dle). The group officially debuted on May 2 with their first mini album I Am.
On February 28, Minnie appeared on King of Mask Singer. As the masked singer 'Cockle Shell', she sang "D (Half Moon)" by DEAN, and she impressed the panelists with her emotional and dreamlike voice. On the show, she also declared that she wanted "to break down the prejudice that [non-Korean vocalists] don’t have good pronunciation or that [they] don’t understand the lyrics.
" She made her acting debut as one of the lead actors in the Netflix series So Not Worth It, which started airing on June 18. On March 9, 2023, a collaboration single with British singer Anne-Marie was released, titled "Expectations". On April 26, 2023, she released the promotional single "Pink Your Moment".
On December 3, 2024, Cube Entertainment confirmed that Minnie is currently preparing her solo debut, scheduled for mid-January 2025. On January 6, a teaser image was unveiled, announcing a release for the next day. In a following post, they revealed the title as "Blind Eyes Red".
Its music video was released on January 7. On January 7, it was announced that Minnie will be releasing her debut mini album on January 21, later revealed to be titled as Her.
