Mia first appearances in the public eye in 2018 on Mnet's singer-songwriter survival show Breakers. Mia finished in the Top 4. Following her participation on the television show, Mia signed a contract with Studio Blu.
Later, on December 18, 2018, Mia made her debut with EP Movie Screen. A few months later on March 27, 2019, Mia had her first comeback with the digital single "Dear" which featured Penomeco, a fellow contestant from Breakers. In the later half of 2019, Mia released two digital singles "Not A Fairytale ⅓" and "Not A Fairytale ⅔" which are a buildup towards a studio album set to be released in 2020.
On September 6, 2020, Mia released her first full-length studio album, titled Not A Fairytale and includes her two previously released digital singles as tracks. Following her final music release, "Island", on October 6, 2022, Mia has since transitioned to working as a producer and writer for various K-pop artists. Following the end of her contract with WAKEONE in 2023, she went onto join the song writing and producer team 153/Joombas.
