In January 2016, Minji became a contestant on the survival show Produce 101, where she represented MagicFresh Company. She was eliminated in episode 5 after ranking 71st place. In May 2018, she became a contestant on the survival show Produce 48, where she represented M&D17.
She was eliminated in episode 8 after ranking 53rd place. On October 18, 2021, Vine Entertainment announced that Minji, alongside Zuu, would be joining SECRET NUMBER as the group's newest members. She officially debuted as a member on October 27 with the single album "Fire Saturday".
On April 4, 2025, Minji announced via Instagram she left SECRET NUMBER following the termination of her contract with Vine Entertainment. On February 18, 2026, it was announced that she would be making her debut on March 31, 2026 under the stage name MELONii. On March 18, she announced her debut japanese digital single "Risky Risky", set to be released on March 31.
