On September 3, 2015, she debuted in Unicorn with their first digital single "Once Upon A Time" under her birth name Gayoung. In September 2017, Rumi announced through her Instagram that Unicorn had disbanded. On October 18, 2022, she debuted as a soloist with the digital single titled "My Cat" under the stage name Mauve.
