On November 12, 2013, Lim Jisoo created a YouTube channel and started uploading covers. On October 20, 2016, she was shown as a contestant during the fifth episode of the Mnet survival show '. It confirmed that she passed the first round, but her performance did not air.
During the second round, she performed "Kieuk" by with Moon Soyeon, Jin Sooah, and Yoon Jooae. She advanced to the third round after the judges gave her one of the three additional passes available at the end of the round. On October 27, in the sixth episode, she was eliminated during the third round and finished in the top 40, but her performance did not air.
On October 24, 2018, she debuted as a member of the band AGAPAO Worship with their first digital single "Your Glory". The band also includes the members of W24 and other various singers & musicians from the Agapao Church. On October 19, 2019, she was introduced as a contestant in the third episode of the Channel A survival show Vocal Play 2, also known as Vocal Play: Campus Music Olympiad, which was for college and university students.
She was competing as a student. In the first round, she performed "Radioactive" by . She finished the round in first place with a score of 396 out of 400 from the main judges , Ailee, , and guest judge .
On November 2, she passed the second round after performing "Woo Ah" by Crush in the fifth episode and winning in a battle against Kim Minseo. She finished the round in second place which allowed her to be the second contestant to choose her teammates for the third round. On November 16, she passed the third round after performing "Tears" by in the seventh episode as part of the team CIRCLE with Kim Young Heum and Nah Sanghyun.
Their team finished the round in first place with a score of 487 out of 500 from the main judges Sweet Sorrow, Kim Hyun Chul, Ailee, Lee Seok Hoon, and guest judge Kang Seung Yoon. On November 30, during the fourth round, she performed "Twenty-three" by IU in the ninth episode in a battle against Kim Jeong A. She was defeated, but she advanced to the fifth round after receiving an additional pass at the end of the round.
On December 14, she passed the fifth round after performing "Make You Feel My Love" by in the 11th episode and winning in a battle against Moon Haneul. On December 21, she passed the sixth round after performing "Faith" by & in the 12th episode and winning in a battle against Kim Jeong A. On December 28, in the 13th and final episode, she passed the semi-final round after performing "You Say" by and winning in a battle against Kim Young Heum.
Then, in the final round, she performed "Flashlight" by in a battle against Lee Kyoungseo. At the end of the episode, she was announced as the winner of the show and earned its grand prize of a full university scholarship, an artist contract with Warner Music Korea, and a debut album release. On May 15, 2020, she released the song "Fashion" as the 11th part of the Eccentric!
Chef Moon OST. On August 8, she released the song "I'll Miss You" as the seventh part of the Backstreet Rookie OST. On January 4, 2021, she made her solo debut under Warner Music Korea with her first digital single "Monologue".
She was also co-managed by JARMY Entertainment. On March 9, she released her second digital single "Up&Down". It was her final release under Warner Music Korea before her contract with the label ended.
She continued as an artist under JARMY Entertainment which later changed its name to Favor Entertainment. On September 20, she was revealed as one of the 111 contestants competing on the TV Chosun survival show Kookmin Singer. On October 14, she passed the preliminary master audition round after performing "행진" by in the second episode.
