She debuted as a member of Lovelyz on November 12, 2014 with the group's first album Girls' Invasion. On June 27, 2016, Kei was revealed to be making her acting debut in the web drama Matching! Boys Archery.
In October, 2017, it was announced that Kei would be making her musical debut in the show At The Age Of Thirty. She made her solo debut on October 8, 2019 with her first mini album Over and Over. On March 9, 2021, it was revealed that Kei had been cast as part of the main cast for the musical '.
On November 16, Lovelyz went on indefinite hiatus after the members' contracts expired. She decided to not renew her contract with Woollim. On January 10, 2022, it was announced that she has signed an exclusive contract with Palmtree Island to promote as a musical actress.
She subsequently starred in Excalibur, Death Note and ONAIR. On September 16, Kei was revealed as one of 48 contestants on the survival show Artistock Game. As part of the show she released two original songs, "Mobius" and "Moonlight Wind".
In the final episode she placed 2nd. On September 27, Palmtree Island announced that Kei would be leaving the agency after nine months at the end of the month. On December 2, Kei signed an exclusive contract with A2Z Entertainment and is in the final stage of preparations to release a new album in the near future.
On April 24, 2023, it was reported that Kei would be partaking in the survival show Queendom Puzzle as a contestant. On August 15, it was announced that Kei had finished in 4th place and would be joining project group EL7Z UP. They debuted on September 14 with their first mini album 7+Up.
EL7Z UP is assumed to have disbanded in 2024. On December 12, 2024, it was announced that Kei would be having a solo comeback with the digital single "Winter Garden" on December 19.
