From 2017 to 2021, she was trainee under XGALX with XG, but did not end up making the debut lineup. On July 7, 2021, Rei was confirmed as a contestant on Mnet's reality show, Girls Planet 999, along with the other participating trainees, through the prologue trailer. Her official profile was released on July 19.
In the fifth episode, which was aired on September 3, it was revealed that Rei, along with her cellmates, was unfortunately eliminated. On December 31, 2023, Rei was confirmed as a contestant on the reality survival show Chuang Asia Thailand during Thai shopping mall Icon Siam's Amazing Thailand Countdown 2024. On March 16, 2024 she was eliminated in episode 7 after ranking 35th place.
