In October 2020, Dohyun was announced as an upcoming contestant in the 2020 teen reality competition show CAP-TEEN. She was eventually eliminated from the competition during the Genre TOP Mission. After her time on CAP-TEEN, Dohyun went onto joining Pops Entertainment and later was added to their girl group Pastel Girls.
She made her debut with the group with the release of their fourth digital single, "Hyo Nyeo Sim Chung", on August 27, 2021. On August 16, her father announced that Dohyun will be debuting on September 8. She then debuted as Jin Sori with the release of her first studio album Emergence.
