On January 21, 2013, she was confirmed as a member of YG Entertainment's newest girl group, alongside Jisoo. In March that year, she was featured on the song "Special" by Lee Hi. Jennie continued to feature on tracks of labelmates that year.
She was featured on Seungri's "GG Be" in August and G-Dragon's "Black" in September. She was revealed as the first member of BLACKPINK on June 1, 2016. The group made their debut on August 8, 2016 with their first digital single album "Square One".
Jennie made her solo debut on November 12, 2018 with her first single album "Solo". On July 17, a trailer for The Idol was uploaded by HBO in which Jennie was spotted. Two days later, HBO confirmed that Jennie will be playing a part in the show on their Twitter account.
On October 4, 2023, it was announced that Jennie would release her special English single "You & Me" on October 6. On December 24, Jennie announced that she had established her own one-woman agency, ODD ATELIER, to manage her solo activities. Jennie teased a collaboration with American rapper Matt Champion on March 3, 2024 through Instagram.
On March 8, the song, titled "Slow Motion", was released. On March 31, News1 reported that Jennie is preparing to release an album in June. In response, ODD ATELIER stated that nothing has been confirmed.
On April 18, KOZ Entertainment confirmed that Zico would be making his comeback on the 26th, with the digital single "Spot! " which features Jennie. On September 8, it was announced that she had signed with [https://wikipedia.
org/wiki/Columbia_Records Columbia Records] to manage her activities in the United States, as well as release a new single in October. On September 25, Jennie uploaded a teaser video for her upcoming release in which she hung up a poster with the words “Calling All Pretty Girls. ” On September 30, a teaser video revealed that she would be releasing a new digital single titled "Mantra" on October 11.
On January 22, 2025, Jennie announced that she would release her first studio album, Ruby, on March 7. "Love Hangover" was pre-released on January 31. On February 13, 2025, Jennie announced that "ExtraL", a collaboration with would be released on February 21.
On February 3, 2026, and Jennie announced a collaboration for a remix of Tame Impala's "", which will be released on February 6. On March 5, 2026, OA Entertainment announced the repackage album Ruby (The Complete Collection), set for release the following day.
