On October 24, 2019, Hyein (then displayed as HARIN) debuted as a singer-songwriter with the release of her first digital single, "I'll Forget", under Cloud Company. The following year, on January 29, 2020, she released her first comeback with the single, "너에겐 진심을 다 할 나라서". She remained inactive through the rest of the year and through 2021, during which time she departed from Cloud Company.
In 2022, it was discovered that Hyein had joined KD Entertainment when she was listed as one of their artists on their official website.
