In late October 2013, Hwajung started promoting as a new member of TURAN. She presumably left the group in December as she stopped appearing at their activities and the group updated the new lineup on their SNS without her. In 2015, she was added to the girl group D.
Holic to replace member Nine. Her first release with the group was the single album "Murphy & Sally". On February 9, 2017, Hwajung announced via a now-deleted Instagram post that she had left the group on January 19.
On January 1, 2019, she made her solo debut with the digital single "Silkeot".
