So Bin, then known by the stage name Chae Young In, debuted as a member of the five-member girl group Redsox under CJ Music on August 30, 2005 with the release of their sole single album "REDSOX The First Single". Two months later in late October 2005, Redsox entered a hiatus and suspended all group activities due to a car accident; the members were travelling in between events in a van driven by their manager who was experiencing drowsiness. He eventually lost control of the vehicle which overturned and resulted in all persons including two accompanying agency staff becoming injured, including Young In.
In the months following the accident, three members left thus ultimately leading to Redsox's disbandment in early 2006. The following year, on August 2, 2006, Young In made a debut as a soloist singer with the release of the studio album The 1st My Life. Unfortunately, Young In's debut was largely forgotten and received too few sales; this lead to her retirement as a singer and choosing to follow a new career as an actress, in which she found greater success and stability.
Young In continued to be active as an actress until 2012 when she retired following her marriage. In July 2020, it was announced that Young In returned to music as a contestant in the trot reality survival show Voice of Trot. She eventually departed from the show during the third round of eliminations after losing against Kim Chang Yeol.
Later that same year, in October 2020, Young In appeared in another reality survival show, this time Trot Nation. She eventually finished in 37th place. On August 10, 2021, Young In returned as a soloist singer for a brief period of time to release the digital single "Move Into Your Heart".
