On June 23, 2016, MiMi was revealed as the third member of gugudan. The group officially debuted on June 28 with their first mini album Act. 1 The Little Mermaid.
Mimi made her acting debut in 2018 through the web drama I Picked Up A Celebrity On The Street. On December 30, 2020, Jellyfish Entertainment announced that gugudan would be disbanding on December 31 after four years together. On March 31, 2021, MiMi, along with Soyee, individually posted to their SNS that they had departed from Jellyfish Entertainment.
On January 19, 2022, it was announced that MiMi had signed an exclusive contract with Badahae Entertainment. MiMi debuted as a solo artist with the digital single "Overcome" which was released on April 22, 2022 at 12pm KST. On January 1, 2024, it was announced that MiMi had formed the duo CATtRIEVER, along with her fiancé Thunder.
They debuted on January 21, 2024 with the single "5/26".
