In October 2025, new entertainment company HYRU Entertainment announced the launch of their unspecified upcoming project, SUCTION, involving actor Kwon Hyuk Soo (as Hyuk E), actress Na Hyun Yeong (as Yeong E) and singer Narsha (as Jin E) of Brown Eyed Girls. Soon afterwards, a YouTube comedic web series, also titled 'SUCTION' was announced featuring the members as the main cast in their journey leading up to debut. The web series began releasing on December 19, 2025.
In the third episode, a new main cast member was announced and revealed to be MJ of ASTRO. On March 3, 2026, SUCTION announced that their upcoming debut is near and will be released on March 5. Eventually on March 5, their debut digital single "Still Hurts" was released.
