The group, then-known as Delight, was formed as a pre-debut girl group sometime in early 2020 under an unrevealed company. They released their first group photo on April 9, 2020, revealing the five members Pin-A, Yu Eun, Dami, Pichu and Sia. Throughout the next four months, several dance covers were uploaded to their YouTube to showcase the member's dancing, however no new content was uploaded after July 17, 2020.
There were speculations of the group's disbandment however a new dance cover was uploaded on March 11, 2021 revealing that the group is still together, albeit member Pichu had left. Much later, on May 8, 2021, Delight revealed that a new fifth member, Yoona would be replacing Pichu. On May 11, 2021, Delight revealed that they have changed their group name to 'Just COLOR' and unveiled their agency as being Just COLOR Studio, an agency created by Shindong of SUPER JUNIOR and will henceforth be co-ed trainee group.
Soon afterwards, they also revealed two new female trainees named Nayoon and Dala. It wasn't until May 19, that Just COLOR revealed their male trainees, which included YongJin, SangHeon, Ruan, Jino and JaeHee. Additional trainees revealed after this include Hyeseung, Heesun, HaNeul, DuckHee, TaeYoung, Jinny, ChaeEun, GoEun, HaeGang, HyoGeun, HaYoung, JinKyung, YuSeong and Dongju.
On August 21, 2022, all five members graduated from JUST COLOR and began their debut preparations.
