In March 2023, Jake was the first publicly revealed trainee of ChoCo Entertainment and their trainee group ChoCo1&2. Jake was later featured in the songs "Fruity Loops" and "Freeze", released in the studio album ChoCo Takes Hollywood (MAX), released on June 1, 2023. On September 26, 2024, he was officially introduced as a contestant of Project 7.

On November 29, he was eliminated in episode 8 after ranking 45th place. On June 12, 2025, he was introduced as a contestant of Mnet's survival show Boys II Planet, representing ChoCo Entertainment. On September 4, he was eliminated in episode 8 after ranking 40th place.
