In 2017, Jaehan was a contestant on Produce 101 Season 2, representing MMO Entertainment, but was eliminated in episode 4, ending with a final rank of #81. Jaehan was originally expected to debut in SPECTRUM in October 2017, however, the group's debut was postponed due to the members' participation in MIXNINE. On May 9, 2018, SPECTRUM released their first mini album Be Born on May 9, 2018 and Jaehan officially debuted on May 10 through their debut stage on M Countdown.
On December 18, 2018, he debuted with his first solo single "Jaehan Watch". On July 10, 2020, WYNN Entertainment announced on SPECTRUM's fan cafe that the group disbanded and the members' contracts were terminated due to the company's struggles. On March 26, 2021, Jaehan was officially revealed as one of the 11 members that were a part of the upcoming boy group OMEGA X.
The group debuted on June 30, 2021 with the mini album Vamos. On June 15, 2022, it was announced, during the SHOW-CON of the first studio album Story Written in Music, that he is the official leader of the group, or rather the eldest, with also the comments of teammates saying that he has always led the whole group and given a strong support. On May 30, 2025, OMEGA X announced the subunit OX:N consisting of members Jaehan, Xen, Jehyun and Yechan.
On October 1, he was identified as the contestant SingAgain4 Singer No. 16 (싱어게인4 16호 가수) on the JTBC survival show Sing Again 4. On October 28, it was confirmed in the third episode and on the show's website that he was eliminated during the first round.
His performance did not air, but it was released exclusively on the JTBC Music YouTube channel on November 14. He performed "To My Youth" by BOL4.
