On February 18, 2025, SEVENTEEN teased a new unit featuring members Hoshi and Woozi. They would be debuting as Hoshi X Woozi on March 10 with the single "Beam". On July 8, Pledis Entertainment announced that Woozi and Hoshi will be enlisting as active duty soldiers on September 15 and 16 respectively.
