Following the departure of Jaekyung in October 2010, Star Empire Entertainment announced that she would join the 9MUSES as the newest member. She made her official debut with them on August 18, 2011 with the digital single "Figaro". Following Sera's graduation on June 23, 2014, she was appointed as 9MUSES' leader.
On October 3, 2016, the agency announced her graduation from the group following six years of activities. On March 22, 2017, she made her solo debut with the digital single album "Cricket Song". On April 17, 2022, Moon Hyuna, alongside fellow former 9MUSES member Pyo Hyemi, debuted as a duo Me:us with their first digital single "Memories".
