Sometime in 2016, Mostable Music formed the pre-debut girl group Mad Color, with the revealed members New-A and Darin. As a group, they were featured in the OST song "Move" on June 15, 2016 for the drama Tantara. The same year, member New-A and new member Chanmi were featured singers on MC Mong's song "And You", which was released in his seventh album, U.
F. O. Around this time, they also changed their group name to 'HIGHCOLOR.
In late 2017, members New-A, Chanmi and Darin, and another new member, Suha, appeared as contestants on the reality survival show MIXNINE as a trainees representing Mostable Music. All four trainees were eventually eliminated from the show, with their final rankings at 16th, 20th, 61st and 96th place respectively. In 2018, the members of HIGHCOLOR moved to Million Market, with the exception of member Chanmi, indicating she had left the group's lineup.
Eventually member Darin also left Million Market. With only two members left, it was assumed that HIGHCOLOR had disbanded. However, in 2019, it was revealed that HIGHCOLOR was now a female duo consisting of only New-A and Suha.
As a duo, on February 24, it was announced that they would make a collaborative debut with the digital single, "MILLION PUZZLE [ The First Piece ]", which would also feature hip-hop singer Chin Chilla. The song was eventually released on February 26 and was released as a part of a larger music project by Million Market, known as 'Million Market Project'. Unfortunately, only a few months after debut, HIGHCOLOR's SNS posts were all deleted and New-A departed from Million Market, effectively disbanding HIGHCOLOR.
