Prior to their debut, CoCoSoRi had already been actively posting cosplay and animation contents on their SNS since late 2015. On January 5, 2016, CoCoSoRi made their debut with the single album "Dark Circle". On April 29, the group made their first comeback with their second single album "Exquisite!
". The same month, they auditioned for the girl group of The Idolmaster's upcoming drama series The IDOLM@STER. KR.
Sori was selected for the group and made her debut as a member of Real Girls Project while CoCo wasn't and only played minor roles in the drama. On August 16, they made their Japanese debut with "Itoshi no Māmeido". On May 29, 2017, CoCo made her solo debut with the digital single "Wishy Washy".
In September, CoCoSoRi held a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for the production of their new music video. The campaign finished on October 18 with ¥2,297,134 pledged, over their ¥2,000,000 goal. The music video was originally going to be filmed in November and released in December as a single.
However, it was later delayed to February 2018 due to SoRi's participation on MIXNINE. In late 2017, CoCo auditioned for The Unit while SoRi auditioned for MIXNINE. CoCo was eliminated in the preliminary auditions while SoRi managed to reached the final Top 9 but couldn't debut because the male team won.
On February 12, 2018, the duo returned with their first mini album Mi Amor. On July 18, a crowdfund project for CoCo's 2nd solo song "Sugar Cake" was opened on Kickstarter, which managed to raised ₩20,184,125, over the goal of ₩9,155,193. The song was later released on August 17.
On August 1, a crowdfund project for SoRi's solo debut "Touch" was opened on Makestar, which managed to raised ₩24,539,916, over the goal of ₩7,000,000. On September 4, SoRi made her solo debut with the song. In September, shortly after SoRi's solo debut, CoCoSoRi appeared to be dealing with internal conflicts as CoCo accused the company of having favoritism towards Sori in a Twitch live stream.
Things escalated as CoCo continued to post defamatory statements about SoRi and fought with fans who disagreed with how she handled the situation on Twitter and Instagram. On December 10, M. O.
L. Entertainment ended their silence by issuing a statement on their official Facebook, confirming that they were preparing a legal response against CoCo. On February 1, 2019, M.
O. L. Entertainment issued a lengthy statement on their official Facebook, announcing that CoCoSoRi would be disbanding and that the agency would be taking legal action against CoCo for posting false, defamatory statements about the agency and fellow member SoRi on social media.
The duo officially disbanded on March 6, 2019. Following CoCoSoRi's disbandment, the members went their separate ways: - CoCo terminated her contract with the agency after the lawsuit ended in November 2019. She later became active as an influencer and released one more solo digital single titled "Lately" in 2021.
- Sori went on to release several more songs as a soloist, as well as being active as an actress.
