Kim Young So won various guitar competitions between 2015 and 2019. In 2019, Kim Young So joined JTBC's audition show SuperBand and won with his band Hoppípolla. The band released their first digital single, "About Time", on November 16, 2019.
On October 8, 2021, it was announced that Kim Young So signed with Arts & Artists. On May 31, 2022, Arts & Artists posted a music video teaser for his solo debut studio album Utopia. It will be released on June 16.
On December 15, 2023, Kim Young So announced that he signed an exclusive contract with BT Entertainment. On December 22, he announced his first digital single "U", set to be released on December 24. On April 8, 2024, pre-orders for his first EP Now, More Precious Than Eternity opened.
It will be released on April 14 and is his first release as a singer-songwriter.
