DIRTY SHOE was formed as a boy band sometime in late 2023 by students of Kyung Hee University and consists of vocalist Lee Jong Hoo, guitarist Lee Jae Bok, drummer Kim Ha Sung (also going by Devilish) and bassist Kim Tae Hyuk. In early January 2024, they began publishing song demos on their SoundCloud account. They had published a total of 15 song demos in 2024, of which, the self-titled song "Dirty Shoe" became their debut digital single and was released on May 2, 2024.
In October 2024, they appeared as group contestants in TV Chosun's Campus GAYO, a music reality survival show. They eventually finished the show in second place and thus signed a contract with Jellyfish Entertainment. On December 12, the same day Campus GAYO ended, they released their first mixtape on their SoundCloud, titled MixTape 251206.
A year later on December 19, 2025, they released their first comeback with the release of the digital single "Watcha Doing? ".
