YG Entertainment upcoming boy group

On July 22, 2024, YG Entertainment's CEO Yang Hyun Suk announced that their upcoming boy group, tentatively named NEXT MONSTER, is currently in the works. In March 2025, a YouTube channel, claiming to the official NEXT MONSTER's YouTube account, uploaded a series of videos using artificial intelligence, showcasing a five members boy group. Netizens wondered if YG Entertainment would be launching their first virtual boy group.

YG responded that the account is not an official channel and they are still discussing whether NEXT MONSTER will be a girl group or a boy group. On May 26, YG Entertainment announced that two boy groups and two girl groups may be debuting. YG CEO Yang Hyun Suk revealed that he is planning to debut one of the two boy groups in 2026, as well as a four-member girl group.
