In 2021, Anthonny participated in the GyaO! reality show Produce 101 Japan Season 2. He was eliminated in the final episode.
On May 20, 2021, Haruto (Hart), was announced as a contestant in the SBS's audition show LOUD. He was eliminated in the eight episode, during the fourth round. On December 29, 2022, Anthonny, Haruto, Yuto and Takuto were revealed as contestant in Mnet's survival show Boys Planet.
On March 2, 2023, during the airing of the fifth episode, Yuto was eliminated. Anthonny was eliminated during the airing of the eighth episode, on March 23. On April 14, during the airing of the eleventh episode, Haruto and Takuto were both eliminated.
On May 25, 2023, Haruto announced his departure from WAKEONE through his newly opened Instagram account. On June 14, Anthonny also announced his departure from the agency. On August 13, 2023, a photo featuring the members was posted as a teaser across YY Entertainment's sns.
The following hours, the members were all officially revealed. On September 7, it was announced that TOZ will be releasing their pre-debut mini album Flare on September 27. On October 27, 2023, TOZ revealed their official fandom name, TOPAZ.
On April 8, it was announced that the group will be releasing their debut mini album To My New Friends on May 2. On October 31, 2025, YY Entertainment announced they have mutually agreed to conclude TOZ's group activities after long and careful discussions.
