On November 2, 2020, SBS announced that they would be launching a new boy group audition show in collaboration with JYP Entertainment's J. Y. Park and P N's PSY to create two global boy groups.
Applications were open from November 2, 2020 to January 31, 2021 for males born in or after the year 2000. The show, LOUD, began airing on June 5, and ended on September 11, 2021, with Kyung Jun, Tae Hun, Hyun Soo, Jun Hyeok, Hwi, Sung Jun and Tanaka Koki being selected as members of the future boy group of P Nation. On January 24, 2022, P NATION announced that Tanaka Koki would not be debuting with the group in order to pursue further training.
On March 29, it was announced the group would be officially called TNX (The New Six), and that they will debut on May 17. On April 26, it was revealed that the group would debut with their first mini album, Way Up on May 17. On their debut day, the group announced their fandom name, THX, standing for "Together with TNX".
On January 11, P NATION announced that Junhyeok would be taking a break from activities due to experiencing symptoms of anxiety. On January 25, the group announced they will be making their comeback on February 15 with their second mini album, Love Never Dies. On April 16, Junhyeok announced his return after his hiatus via Twitter.
On May 22, the group announced they will be making their comeback on June 7 with their third mini album, Boyhood. On February 1, P NATION announced that TNX would release a digital single by the end of March, followed by their fourth mini album in May. However, the album has yet to be released and is believed to be either postponed or canceled entierely.
On March 8, they released a teaser for their digital single "Fuego", set for release on March 20. On July 10, it was announced that TNX would be participating in Road to Kingdom : Ace of Ace, which was broadcasted from September 19 to November 7. The group ended in seventh place.
On October 23, it was announced that Kyung Jun had decided to enlist in the military and leave the group upon completing his military service, thereby terminating his contract with the company. On March 18, the group announced they will be making their comeback on March 26 with their fourth mini album, For Real?. On January 5, 2026, Tae Hun went live on Weverse confirming that TNX will be coming back sometime in Janaury.
On Janaury 8, KBS had reviewed two new songs "Call Me Back" and "그러니까 내 말은", where the first one will have the music video. On January 12, the group announced their second digital single "Call Me Back", set for release on January 22.
