On November 28, 2014, the group made their debut under Gaon Entertainment with the digital single "Destiny". On July 13, 2015, they made their Chinese debut with the digital single "The Contour Of Love". On December 14, they released their second digital single "Makes Me High", the Korean version of their Chinese debut single.
On January 13, 2017, the group kickstart their domestic promotion with the release of their first mini album Damn-Oh Tape, a compilation of songs that they had been preparing for but were unable to release due to their busy overseas activities. It was also revealed that they had been active without an agency for quite some time after their previous agency went out of business, with the members taking care of their promotions and distribution-related work themselves. On February 15, they were reported to have signed with Stallion Entertainment.
On March 24, they had their first performance on a music show with "Look Back" on Simply Kpop. The music video for "Look Back" was later released on April 21, ahead of the digital single's official release to streaming platforms on May 15. On January 17, 2018, The King launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the music video of their upcoming single, "I'm Coming To You", which featured their labelmate, actor .
However, the campaign failed to reach its goal on February 17. On December 12, they released the first teaser for the single, alongside plans for a music video in collaboration with the brand . The digital single was later released on December 20 alongside its music video.
On May 30, 2019, the group entered the Japanese music market with their first Japanese mini album I'm Coming To You, consisting of their previously released songs, selected by the members for Japanese fans. On July 17, Sejin and Bawool were revealed as members of Stallion Entertainment and A. CONIC's upcoming project band A.
FACT through their Makestar campaign. On September 27, they released their first Japanese single album "Water Drop". In 2020, the group became inactive and was assumed to have disbanded.
