On January 15, 2021, in a now deleted Instagram post, WE IN THE ZONE member Kyeongheon revealed that they had all terminated their contracts with Choon Entertainment due to internal circumstances. This was further confirmed by the deletion of the group's Instagram account and their inactivity on other SNS accounts.

On August 12, 2021, he was introduced as the 34th contestant of the survival show Wild Idol. During the show's finale, he was revealed to have ranked 7th overall, thus making him a member of TAN. They debuted with their first mini album Limited Edition '1TAN on March 10, 2022.
