SUPERNOVA

On May 8, 2006, GM Planning's CEO, Kim Kwang Soo, announced that the agency would be debuting a five-member boy group in the fall. The members had been training for 1 year and 6 months and were selected so that they can all sing, dance, and act. The group is also produced for the Asian market as they have one Korean-Japanese member.

They would debut in a two-part drama with a production cost of 5 billion won. The drama will produced by director Cha Eun Taek and filmed between September and October. On December 19, 2006, the group was officially revealed for the first time with a six-member lineup.
