On May 3, 2017, Dong Sung was introduced as a trainee under FNC's NEOZ SCHOOL program. He was the leader and bassist of the NEOZ Band team which competed on Mnet's debut survival show d. o.
b (Dance or Band) but lost to the NEOZ Dance team (which debuted as SF9). His team then debuted under the name HONEYST on May 17, 2017 with their first single album "Like You". On April 26, 2019, FNC announced the group had officially disbanded.
On January 1, 2020, Lee Seung Hyub announced through the group's fan cafe that Dong Sung would be joining N. Flying as their bassist. FNC confirmed the news later that day.
He officially debuted with the group on June 10, 2020 with their seventh mini album So, Communication.
