On August 12, 2024, SM Entertainment and TV Chosun Entertainment announced that they will be collaborating to produce a trot boy group. The group will be managed by SM Entertainment and will consist of five members. Composer Cho Yeong Su, best known for his work on the TV Chosun's Miss Trot and Mr.
Trot series, will produce the group. Meanwhile, TV Chosun will broadcast a show in Korea and Japan which follows the group's journey to debut. A preview will be unveiled during the Chuseok holiday.
On September 13, TV Chosun reality program Falling for a Trot-dol: Lovestruck Sisters introduced all five members: former MR. MR member and Mr. Trot 2 contestant Tey, actor Seo Woohyeok, SMROOKIES' trainee Shohei, actor Jung Yoonjae, and former Mr.
Trot 2 contestant Im Chaepyoung. The show was set to premiere in the first week of October. The next day, Tey was officially introduced, followed by Yoonjae on September 15, Shohei on September 16, Chaepyoung on September 17 and Woohyeok on September 18.
On December 1, it was reported that MYTRO will make their debut in February 2025. However, sometime in May, most of their SNS accounts were deactivated and their webpage deleted, leaving fans wondering if the group's debut was either delayed or canceled entirely. MYTRO's scheduled performance in Indonesia in June also remains uncertain.
As MYTRO seemingly disappeared from the 2025 Allo Bank Festival lineup and was replaced by XODIAC, it is assumed that the group disbanded without a debut.
