On January 20, 2019, it was reported that MONSTA X were preparing for comeback in February. Starship confirmed the news on the 30th after announcing the group would appear on Idol Room ahead of promotions. That same day, MONSTA X released a teaser video for their upcoming album titled Take.
2 We Are Here to be released on February 18. The group released their fifth Japanese single "Shoot Out" on March 27. This was followed by their sixth single "Alligator" on June 12 and second Japanese album Phenomenon on August 21.
MONSTA X began their third world tour 'We Are Here' in Seoul on April 13. The tour concluded on September 4 following 23 shows in 20 cities. The group released their seventh mini album Follow : Find You on October 28.
On October 31, Starship announced Wonho's departure from MONSTA X as he wish to not cause trouble to the group following recent allegations surrounding him. Starship would continue to take legal action against the malicious claims. On August 8, 2022, Starship Entertainment released a statement announcing that all of the members, except I.
M, renewed their contracts. I. M decided to not renew his contract but he would continue to participate in the group's future plans.
On December 11, 2022, MONSTA X announced that their 12th mini album, Reason, would be released on January 9, 2023. On May 3, Starship Entertainment confirmed that members Shownu and Hyungwon would form the group's first unit. On June 28, they announced that Shownu X Hyungwon would make their debut with the mini album The Unseen on July 25.
On May 5, 2025, the group announced that they would be releasing their first digital album, Now Project Vol. 1, on May 14. On May 23, the group announced that they would be releasing their second Japanese digital single, "Beautiful Liar / Gambler (Japan Special Edition)", on May 28.
On July 16, MONSTA X announced they were preparing for their full-group comeback in September. On July 20, during the third night of their 10th-anniversary concert, MONSTA X revealed they would be returning on September 1. On July 27, the group announced their 13th mini album, The X.
On November 9, the group announced that they will be releasing their seventh English digital single, "Baby Blue", on November 14. On February 3, 2026, MONSTA X announced their eighth English digital single "Growing Pains", set for release on February 6. On March 2, MONSTA X announced their third English full-length album, Unfold, set for release on April 3.
