On March 21, 2023, OSEN reported that the group will be making their debut in May. Fantagio announced that the exact date is yet to be confirmed although they are expected to debut in the first half of the year. On April 1, Fantagio released an logo motion, revealing the group name to be LUN8.
The group's SNS accounts were also launched that day. Through a teaser posted the following day, the members were revealed to be part of Fantagio's i-Teen project. On April 3, Ian was introduced as the group's first member, followed by Jun Woo on April 4, Takuma on April 5, Jin Su on April 6, Eun Seop on April 7, Chael on April 10, Ji Eun Ho on April 11, and Do Hyun on April 12.
On May 22, it was announced that LUN8 would debut with their first mini album Continue? on June 15. On November 15, it was announced that the group will debut their first sub-unit LUN8wave on November 22 with the digital single "Playground".
On February 13, it was announced that LUN8 will release their second mini album Buff on March 13. "Pastel" was pre-released on February 19. On May 10, LUN8 announced that they will be making their Japanese debut with the single "Evergreen" on June 19.
"My Tune" was pre-released on June 7. On July 16, fantagio announced that LUN8 will be releasing their third mini album, Awakening, on August 14. On August 19, LUN8 announced that they will be releasing their second Japanese single "Together Forever" in December.
On October 10, the release date was revealed, the single is set to release on December 18. On January 21, 2025, Fantagio announced that members Do Hyun and Ji Eun Ho would be taking a hiatus to prioritize their health while member Eun Seop, who had been on a hiatus since October of last year, would be departing from the group. On February 1, it was announced that LUN8 will be releasing their first single album "Butterfly", sometime in February.
On February 6, Fantagio announced that Yuma will be joining the group for their European tour that took place in April. On June 19, LUN8 announced that they will be releasing their first Japanese studio album Elevation on August 27. On September 1, Fantagio announced that LUN8 would be releasing their second single album "Lost", on September 17.
On March 20, Fantagio announced that Ji Eun Ho has officially left LUN8 to focus on his health recovery.
