On August 23, 2022, KOKOON officially announced that Taegil and Ryou had departed from the group: Ryou left the group to return to his original comedy duo Blue Lady in Japan while Taegil left the group because he wanted to continue his career as a comedian, not an idol comedian.
On the 26th of the same month, KOKOON announced a live event in Tokyo and revealed their new lineup with three new members, Sae-Am, Wonki and Shuya. On July 1, 2024, the group posted a spoiler for their comeback and Sae-Am appeared to be missing. On July 24, just 1 day before the comeback, Itsumi was officially introduced as a new member of KOKOON.

Additionally, they revealed their new lineup, consisting of Juwon, Wonki, Sae-Am, who had been on hiatus, and two new members, Sungkwang and Sangyoon. On July 30, Itsumi officially announced his departure from KOKOON and confirmed the lineup change, though he didn't know the specific details as he was only a part of the group through a business partnership with Yoonso Group. Shortly after the announcement of their new lineup, the group began promoting as four without Sangyoon due to personal reasons.
In September, Jeonghun was recruited to fill in the empty spot.
