About
In 2018, he participated in the KBS survival show Dancing High. He was one out of 35 contestants, chosen from 3,112 applicants. On June 2, 2020, Geonu was introduced as a participant in the CJ ENM and Big Hit Entertainment's then upcoming survival show I-LAND.
On the first episode, he performed "Chained Up" by VIXX, along with Kyungmin and Jaeho and was able to enter "I-LAND". However, on the sixth episode, he was voted back to "Ground". On the seventh episode, he ranked eleventh based on the global votes and was able to move onto Part 2 and become one of the final 12.
In the eighth episode, Geonu was a part of the unit performing "I Need U" by BTS, along with Jungwon, Daniel, and Jake. The unit earned the score of 275 points. Although, Geonu had ranked 11th in the episode, he was unfortunately eliminated as TA-KI, who ranked 12th, was immune from elimination due to his unit winning first in the mission.
On February 2, Geonu opened up a personal Twitter account. On May 24, he was officially revealed as a member of Bluedot Entertainment's then upcoming boy group JUST B. On June 30, he then debuted in JUST B with the release of their debut mini album Just Burn.
In January 2024, he was revealed as a contestant on Mnet's reality survival show Build Up : Vocal Boy Group Survivor.
