He made his debut as a member of INFINITE with the release of their first mini album First Invasion on June 9, 2010. He debuted as an actor in 2011 in Japanese drama, Jiu, and continued his acting career in few dramas such as Shut Up Flower Boy Band, Master of The Sun and My Lovely Girl. On August 19, 2019, Woollim Entertainment announced L's departure from the agency following the expiration of his contract and decided not to renew, although he will continue his activites as a member of INFINITE with Woollim.

Following his departure from Woollim Entertainment Management 2sang responded to reports of L signing with them, although nothing had been confirmed at the time. Then in 2020, Management 2sang announced that L officially signed with them. On February 3, 2021, he made his solo debut with his first single album "Between Memory and Memory".
