On August 10, 2021, he was introduced as the 11th contestant of the survival show Wild Idol. During the show's finale, he was revealed to have ranked 6th overall, thus making him a member of TAN. They debuted with their first mini album Limited Edition '1TAN on March 10, 2022.

On June 29, 2024, leader Changsun announced on TAN's official fan cafe that the group had disbanded. On September 9, 2024, MLD Entertainment announced that Hyunyeop will be having a fanmeeting together under the name IN A MINUTE. It was later revealed that the fanmeeting will be taking place on October 20.
