On January 25, the group released their second full length album Return. On August 2, they released their first mini album New Kids : Continue. Another mini album followed with New Kids : The Final on October 1.
On June 12, B. I. departed from the group.
On February 6, they released their third mini album, I Decide. It was their first release as a six-member group. On the tenth and final episode of Kingdom: Legendary War, which was aired on June 3, iKON's final rank was fifth out of the six teams On May 3, the group released their fourth mini album, Flashback.
On July 13, they released their fifth Japanese album, Flashback [+ I Decide] which consisted of Japanese versions of 12 songs from their mini albums Flashback and I Decide, and digital single "Why Why Why". On December 30, YG Entertainment announced that iKON would be leaving the agency after deciding not to renew their contracts. However the members would still continue to promote as a group together.
The same day, it was reported that the group was in discussions to sign with 143 Entertainment, but nothing had been confirmed at that time. On January 1, it was announced that iKON had signed with 143 Entertainment and would be releasing a new album in April 2023. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the group would still be able to promote under the same name despite the change of agency after both parties reached an agreement.
On March 2, iKON announced their first projects under their new agency: an upcoming world tour and a solo single from member Bobby. On April 15, iKON announced their third full-length album Take Off, set to be released on May 4. On August 13, iKON announced their special single "Panorama", set to be released on August 23.
