On May 13, 2014, Jean Paul was introduced as a member of the upcoming boy group BTL. He debuted with the group on May 15 with the digital single "Beyond The Limit". During 2014 and 2015, the group attempted to comeback; however, due to internal issues with their agency, Kiroy Company, BTL remained on hiatus.
On April 28, 2016, Shinhoo Entertainment announced its business closure, and BTL was presumed to have disbanded.
