On February 20, 2023, he was introduced as a contestant on MBC's boy group survival show Fantasy Boys. During the show's finale, he was revealed to have ranked 3rd overall, thus making him a member of FANTASY BOYS. They debuted on September 21, 2023 with the mini album New Tomorrow.
On September 29, 2024, he was introduced as a contestant on the Chinese-South Korean survival show Starlight Boys. He ranked 12th place overall in the finale episode, thus being unable to debut with POLARIX. On January 17, 2025, PocketDol Studio revealed that BAE173 will be collaborating with FANTASY BOYS, including Sung Min, for a release sometime in March or April.
They made their debut as Double 0ne on June 12 with the mini album Xpert.
