In July 2012, EXCITE was first teased on the Penta ENC website. The website announced all members and confirmed that they would debut on the 17th. However, for unknown reasons, the debut was postponed to a later date.
On October 22, they officially debuted with their first digital single "Try Again". The lineup consisted of Tae. G, Seungwook, Sihyuk, Minhoo and BEAT.
On November 26, 2013, they released their second digital single "Comeback To Me". In March 2014, it was announced that EXCITE had transferred to 150 Entertainment. Alongside this, it was revealed that Tae.
G had departed from the group. His roles as leader and main vocalist were reassigned to Sihyuk. On December 25, it was announced that members Minhoo and BEAT had formed a sub-unit, "Excite of Mint".
That same day, the track Love Recipe by Lee Seongwook, vocalist of the vocal group Re. F, was released, featuring the sub-unit. On May 5, 2015, they released their third digital single "눈물이 날 때".
On July 27, EXCITE released their first Japanese mini album, Blue Moon. For the remainder of the year, they continued promoting at small events across Japan. During the first half of 2016, they returned to Korea and began increasing their activities beyond minor promotions at small events.
In August, the group launched a new Instagram page, hinting at undisclosed plans. After September, their public appearances gradually declined. By late 2016, they were presumed to have silently disbanded following their removal from 150 Entertainment's website.
