On September 22, 2022, TM Entertainment opened up Instagram account for the group revealing the first member, Sunwook, followed by Dongjae and Hyun on October 4, Hwanjun on October 5, Kyuhyun (later known as IEL), Younggwang and Kunhee on October 6 and Goohyun on November 17. On June 29, 2023, they revealed, through a new group profile photo, that Goohyun, Sunwook and Hwanjun had left the group, with the additional of two new members, Donghyeon and Phoenix. On August 23, 2023, they revealed that they are preparing for their first debut album, with jacket filming.
On August 31, 2023, they revealed a new member, Sumin, and in addition Donghyeon had left the group since he did not appear on jacket filming album. On November 2, 2023, they revealed that they will make their debut on November 16, with the first mini album Embers. On April 21, 2024, the group announced their first digital single, "Heartthrob", to be released on May 4.
On May 30, TM Entertainment announced that Younggwang and Karis had terminated their contracts for personal reasons. On February 14, 2025, the group announced their second digital single, "Fall In Love", to be released on February 24. Through its release, it was revealed that the single acts as the pre-release for their second mini album.
On March 18, it was announced that EASTSHINE will be releasing their second mini album Luminous on March 27. On May 11, TM announced that member Phoenix will be going on hiatus from group activities due to his individual schedules.
