On January 26, 2019, UPVOTE Entertainment revealed their first trainee boy group UPVOTE BOYS, through a dance cover video, revealing also the first members Won, Sunghyun and Haneul. On February 18, they revealed another new member, Kim Yejoon, through a dance cover video. On September 17, UPVOTE Entertainment released a statement revealing the exclusive contract they had with CICI had been terminated.
The reason for termination listed by the company was differentiating opinions between the company and the group.
