On May 12, 2014, Kiroy Company dropped the first teaser for their upcoming boy group BTL, which will debut on May 15. They later revealed the nine members: Allen, Do. Ka, Jay, Jean Paul, Jisu, Max, Q.
L, Robin, and Yu. A. They made their debut on May 15 with the digital single "Beyond The Limit".
During their initial promotions, BTL announced that they had signed with Star Tao Entertainment, a distribution company. Following this partnership, they began promoting across Asia. On June 27, 2014, Yang Jung Seung, the president of Kiroy Company, released the single "์ด์ฉ์ฐ๋ฆฐ์๋ฎ์๋์".
Jisu, Jay, and some members of the upcoming girl group Ye-A from the same company participated in the recording. For the remainder of 2014, BTL focused their promotions in Hong Kong and occasionally appeared alongside their labelmates, Ye-A. In October, member YuA was noticeably absent from BTL's performances and was replaced by a new member whose identity remained undisclosed.
On December 31, the group performed as a ten-member unit for a special occasion. During this performance, Jay introduced Yeon and confirmed that he would be replacing Yu. A in the group.
In the same performance, YuA announced his departure from BTL and revealed that he would be pursuing a solo career. In April 2015, it was announced that Jisu had begun his mandatory military enlistment and that the group would continue as eight members, marking the first time Kiroy Company formally acknowledged Yu. Aโs departure from the group.
On May 24, Kiroy Company announced that BTL would make a comeback in June. On June 18, teaser photos of the eight members, along with a teaser video for the โGold Moonโ music video, were released. Shortly thereafter, it was announced that the comeback had been postponed to July 9.
On July 9, BTL held their first, and ultimately final, showcase for the era, which was intended to coincide with the albumโs release and mark the completion of the comeback. However, no album was released. It was later reported that the album had been postponed again, this time to July 23.
Despite this announcement, the album was not released on that date either. On September 8, Kiroy Company was acquired by SHINHOO Entertainment, and as a result, all BTL members transferred to the newly merged company. After the merger, no public activity was seen from the group, and it was expected that the mini album would remain unreleased.
No official release occurred on the previously scheduled dates, and no further announcements were made regarding the album or the group's future. On November 24, Do. Ka was spotted in a new boy group, Road Boyz, under the stage name Ha Neul.
However, SHINHOO Entertainment made no official statement regarding whether he was still a member of BTL. It is presumed that he unofficially departed from the group, as a reserve member, Aelen, was introduced in BTL's social media channels. After Aelen's introduction, no further updates about the group's future were given.
On April 28, 2016, Shinhoo Entertainment declared business closure and BTL was presumed to have disbanded. On January 21, 2023, it was confirmed that BTL, with members Jay, Robin, Yeon and Q. L, would partake in JTBC's Peak Time.
Their silhouette was revealed through a performance of "BTD (Before The Dawn)" by INFINITE. However, they were eliminated on episode 2.
