On November 15, 2021, Keystone Entertainment posting an image on Twitter, announcing that they would be debuting a nine-member boy group (then tentatively named KEYSTONE BOYZ) in 2022. On December 20, 2021, Keystone's CEO and founder Sam Choi revealed the group's first member, Youngbin. On December 25, 2021, the group's debut timetable was released.
On December 25, 2021, Louis was revealed as the group's second member, followed by Donghyuk on January 1, 2022. On January 7, 2022, the CEO of Keystone Entertainment posted a spoiler revealing that DK is the oldest of the group and is a "new face". On January 11, 2022, Keystone released an updated timetable.
On January 28, 2022, Keystone revealed the group's official name would be called BLANK2Y. The group's logo was also revealed by Keystone's CEO Sam Choi. Three days later, Sodam was revealed to be the youngest member as a special present.
On February 1, Keystone revealed the group's fourth member, Siwoo. The same day, they presented the last three members of the group (7th, 8th, 9th), revealing name and year only, as a special present for the fans. On February 14, Keystone revealed the group's fifth member, Mikey, followed by the group's sixth member, U.
On February 25, Sodam was officially revealed as the seventh member. On February 26, DK was officially revealed as the eighth member. On February 27, Sungjun was officially revealed as the ninth and final member.
On March 15, Keystone announced that BLANK2Y's 7-part debut reality show, BLANK2Y'S, will be airing weekly starting from March 20 through the group's official YouTube channel and KAVECON. On March 21, the CEO revealed that the group is set to debut in May. On April 6, 2022, it was announced that they are set to debut on May 24.
A day later, they revealed their fandom name to be "K2YWE". On May 6, the group announced their first mini album K2Y I : Confidence [Thumbs Up], which was released on May 24. On August 2, the group announced their first comeback, with the mini album K2Y II : Passion [Fuego], which was released on August 24.
On October 20, it was announced that Siwoo would be going on a temporary hiatus due to health concerns. On February 25, an anonymous individual came forward accusing idol "Y" of dating violence, who was later confirmed to be Youngbin. Later that day, KeyStone Entertainment confirmed the rumors, and announced that Youngbin had left BLANK2Y.
The group will reorganize as eight members. On June 27, it was announced that DK, Louis, U, Sungjun and Sodam had terminated their exclusive contracts with Keystone Entertainment after an in-depth discussion but will remain members of BLANK2Y. Additionally, Donghyuk and Siwoo will take a break from group activities to focus on acting and Mikey will continue to be on hiatus due to health issues.
On October 23, 2023, DS Entertainment opened up SNS accounts for their upcoming boy group DV. OL with the five BLANK2Y members Dokyun (formerly DK), Louis, U, Sungjun, and Sodam, hinting their departures from the group with its disbandment. - Donghyuk and Siwoo have signed with Aubemoon Studio and have started to focus on acting.
- On August 16, 2023, it was announced that DK, Louis, U, Sungjun, and Sodam have signed with DS Entertainment. They will debut as their upcoming boy group DV. OL.
The group has been inactive since January 2024, so it’s speculated the debut has been cancelled. - On June 12, 2025, U was introduced as a contestant of Mnet's survival show Boys II Planet as an individual trainee. - On February 15, 2024, Mikey was announced as a member of Celest1a.
They debuted on July 31, 2024 and disbanded on November 1, 2024. The circumstances of the other members are unknown.
