ARGON opened their social media accounts in May 2018 and revealed the first member to be Kain on November 19, 2018 followed by the second member Haneul on November 20, third member Roel on November 21, Yeounand Jaeun on November 22, and the final member Gon on November 23. Following the member introductions, they continued to post various pre-debut content on their social media in the following months. Notably, in January 2019, they posted member profiles in batches: Gon and Kain on the 16th, Yeoun and Roel on the 23rd, and finally, Haneul and Jaeun on the 31st.

On February 26, it was announced that ARGON would hold their first showcase ahead of their debut on March 11. Later that same day, a teaser photo was posted for their debut, along with the release title and date: their first single album MASTERKEY on March 11. For the following days, they continued releasing member teasers ahead of their debut.

On the announced date, March 11, ARGON officially debuted with their first single album "Master Key. " On September 20, a schedule was posted on ARGON's SNS, announcing their first comeback with their second mini album, GO FORWARD : Wide Dream. On October 1, their fandom name, A-RANG, was announced.

The following day, they officially made their comeback with their mini album GO FORWARD : Wide Dream. On May 27, 2020, a crowdfunding project through Makestar was opened to fund ARGON's next release. The project eventually surpassed its initial goal, reaching 250% of its target with 25,000,000₩.

Following the completion of the campaign, ARGON continued to upload various content until October 1, 2020, when their final official update was posted. Despite the successful funding, the planned album was never released and the Makestar project was ultimately cancelled. The group is presumed to have disbanded in late 2020 due to their prolonged inactivity and the lack of any further official announcements.

Following the disbandment of ARGON, the members went their separate ways. - Haneul, under his birth name Lee Cheol Hyeok, signed with YM Entertainment on February 1, 2024. - He later participated in the survival show Project 7, but was eliminated during the survival round.

- Kain has been active under the name Junho since 2021, working as a professional dancer. He has collaborated with artists including Hpresso, ENHYPEN, Red Velvet, and SF9. - Gon, using his birth name Kim Sung Joong, debuted as a soloist on April 8, 2025, with the digital single "DNDN (Day n Day n Night)".

- He previously participated in the survival shows Peak Time and Project 7. On Peak Time, he advanced to the finals as part of TEAM 24:00, placing third overall. Later, in 2024, he joined JTBC's survival show Project 7, but was eliminated during the survival round.

- Jaeun established his own agency, Decide Entertainment, and launched its official social media accounts in February 2025. He stated that he aims to support emerging artists and plans to debut a boy group in 2025. - He also operates a clothing store in Jeju titled N.
