On May 27, 2021, they announced that they would make their comeback with their third digital single "Couple", set to be released June 3, 2021. On March 21, 2022, Top Cloud Entertainment announced that Woohyuk would take a temporary break from group activities due to his severe panic disorder. On May 30, 2022, it was announced that Woohyuk would be departing from the group due to his worsening panic attacks.
On October 6, 2022, they announced that member Mingyu would be entering a health-related hiatus due to his deteriorating health. Thus, the group will continue to promote as 3 members. On November 6, 2023, they announced their two new members: Gyeom and K:Day, who are both former members of NCUS.
On January 17, 2024, Domo personally announced his departure from the group after he admitted to evading his military service. On July 2, the group announced they have changed their name to APEX and hinted at an upcoming comeback. On July 3, APEX announced their first digital single, "Action : 'The Giant'", set to be released on July 14.
On October 8, 2025, it was announced that APEX would debut in Japan with the single "Checkmate", on December 17. On October 10, it was announced APEX had departed J-Star Entertainment and joined NYH Entertainment, which was founded by No Youngho (former member of SIGNAL, BARA, PURE, and Rotifle Crew). On November 8, APEX announced their second digital single, "Take1 : Check Point", set to be released on November 19.
On January 19, 2026, NYH Entertainment announced a new project group formed by members of AWIN and APEX. The group is set to begin promotions in Japan on February 7, 2026.
