On February 17, 2021, NES Entertainment opened up an Instagram account to introduce their female trainees, who were known by the collective name 'NES GIRLS'. The first three trainees to be revealed were Tsuki (former member of My Darling), Tana and Ruka (also former My Darling). On February 20, trainee Kangeun was introduced, followed by Chaeyoon on February 22, Songyi (former member of DAILY) on February 25, and Yeony (also former DAILY) on March 8.
By early May, four trainees, including Kangeun, Ruka, Chaeyoon and Yeony departed from the trainee group, which on May 10, 2021, lead the agency to open auditions to recruit new trainees. On August 16, 2021, NES GIRLS's Instagram account was deactivated, hence the trainee group is assumed to have disbanded. Later, it was revealed that NES GIRLS Instagram account had changed its name to Z GIRLS in relation to the agency rebranding as Z Entertainment.
At this point, the group now only had Tsuki and Songyi, hinting they haven't been dissolved yet. Unfortunately, they were still inactive since that moment, hinting their definitive disbandment. On July 23, 2023, Z Entertainment surprisingly shared that the group was not dissolved by revealing their first new member, Hailey.
In addition, they were announced to make their debut in the second half of that year. Sometime in August 2023, they removed all their Instagram posts, hinting Hailey's departure and possible group's disbandment. On August 27, 2023, they became active again on SNS by revealing their first member, Mijin.
The also made announcement that the groul will make their debut in the first half of 2024. Sometime in November 2023, they removed all their Instagram posts once again, hinting Mijin's departure and possible group's disbandment.
